Advancing DEI in The Joint Commission

Learn how to effectively and inclusively lead and advance DEI throughout The Joint Commission. In this program, participants will: • Understand the relationship between human habits and organizational culture and learn how to develop a DEI “habit prescription” so that behaviors and expectations are clear throughout the organization. • Learn the leadership skills needed to lead change initiatives related to DEI and build confidence in leading DEI through conversational techniques that both advance the work of DEI and create safe spaces • Understand personal and organizational DEI ecosystems and potential value propositions • Learn a theoretical framework from which to understand and communicate diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and practice building strong communication skills including how to talk about equity and inclusion and effectively articulate the need for change within your teams. • Learn how to overcome “organizational silence” that generates decreased trust and morale and create the conditions and safety that encourage others to speak up, thereby enhancing motivation and performance • Explore the ethical implications of influence as means of advancing your initiatives, develop new approaches to influencing others, apply concepts to current DEI influence initiatives • Build knowledge of what to measure when it comes to inward and outward DEI, and inspire action with core concepts in and with continuous improvement, and make it real by developing a plan to address and improve a DEI outcome that is important to The Joint Commission.
